Barry has been performing on steel drums since 1986 after attending a workshop at the University of Georgia where he studied steel drums with Ellie Mannette, one of the pivitol figures in the creation of the modern steel drum instrument. Barry has performed around the south eastern US as a solo playing private and corporate events, restaurants and weddings and around the country with his tour group Caribbean Sound Steel Pan & World Music Ensemble. Barry also travels and plays steel drums with Jimmy Parrish and the Ocean Waves Band, a Trop-Rock band based in Jacksonville, Fl. Currently Barry is Executive Director of CST Entertaiment Productions LLC and director and instructor of CST School of Percusion. He has spent many years traveling to Trinidad and Tobago to continue his study of steel drums.
